Troon Portland Take Home the Finnie Kettle
Congratulations to Bert McKay and his team of Jamie Mason, Charles Sutherland and Wendy Hollingworth, who were presented with the Finnie Kettle after going up +7 shots on their opponent, Riccarton. This is the second year running that Troon Portland has won the Kettle.
This year’s game was held on the 30th October with Kilmaurs defeating Tarbolton, Stewarton peeling with Dundonald, Kilwinning getting the better of Symington, Galston besting Dalry Union, newcomers in 2018 Ayr & Alloway beating one of the originals, Dreghorn & Springside and Troon Portland coming out on top against Riccarton who had slipped over the boundary into the north of the river !
The total shots scored by the clubs north of the river amounted to 42 but the south edged ahead with a total of 46. After the curlers enjoyed a meal President Morag Evans of Dundonald declared the south to be the winner.
Dundonald Curling Club is looking forward to the trophy’s 150th Anniversary next year.
